EcoBees Somalia working for more than for more than 19 years, the Somalia Beekeeping Cooperatives and Association in South Central Somalia have been working in the interest of all beekeepers, large and small, and those associated with the beekeeping industry to ensure the future of the honeybee.

ACTIVITIES ALREADY CARRIED OUT BY THE ECOBEES IN SOMALIA
Identification and selection of potential areas of beekeeping
The field offices
(Southwest State, Jubaland, HirShabelle) in Somalia identified the potential areas
of beekeeping. Southwest.
Conducting Awareness Program
coordination with Ministries of the Livestock and Environment organized the awareness program through institutions/ NGO,s
who are working in beekeeping development, rural development, and agricultural activities.
Convergence with like-minded organizations/ Scientists
To promote the beekeeping activity in a larger perspective with overall development in terms of adopting scientific beekeeping practices those organizations that are engaged in
beekeeping were invited to organize seminars.
Handholding support:
The field offices have extended handholding support to
the successfully trained beneficiaries for honey extraction and multiplication of
bee colonies through Master Trainers.
Organizing skill development program
The field offices organized a skill de-
velopment program through EcoBees (state beekeeping extension centers), in
which the beneficiaries were trained about the methodology of beekeeping ac-
tivities, Maintenance and handling of bee colonies, Information about flora cal-
endar, techniques of migration of the bee colonies.
Distribution of bee boxes with bee colonies and tool kits:
The field offices have
distributed accordingly after the EcoBees get the financial and budget from the
government, Donor, INGOs, and UN agencies
